Mezuzah Protection Campaign

The Ambassador of Light / Mezuzah Protection mission is to ensure every Jewish home in British Columbia has Kosher Mezuzahs affixed to the doorposts of their homes.

This campaign has two parts.

Part One: CHECK MY MEZUZAHS WITH THE FIRST EVER BC TRAVELING SCRIBE

For those who already have a Mezuzah – bring them for a check-up to the first time ever local BC traveling scribe. A certified scribe will be at various Chabad Centres throughout British Columbia for the first time ever special to check your mezuzahs. Please come by and bring your mezuzahs during the day to be checked by the scribe for authenticity or errors. It’s best to mark which mezuzahs are from which doors in your home so they can be reinstalled on the same door after the check up. You will also have the option to book a time for the Rabbi to come directly to your home to re-install your Mezuzahs – or you can take instructions on how to do it yourself. (Some centres are also hosting a full scribal art event. See your centre below for details).

Part Two: FIRST TIME FRONT DOOR MEZUZAH.

Be an Ambassador and introduce the gift of Mitzvah Mezuzah to a Jewish friend, co-worker or family member who doesn’t yet have one on their front door for only $18. (You can also purchase additional Mezuzahs with specially arranged sponsored discounts which will be available only during the time of this campaign).

There is no cost to come and see the scribe.
The Cost for checking Mezuzahs is $10. First one is free.
If it’s not Kosher- there is no charge for checking.

Tehillim . For simple poetic genius, for pathos, sweetness and heartfelt piety, King David’s Book of Psalms is unique.

The Psalms are songs of praise to the Creator, speaking of His greatness, goodness and mercy, as well as of His power and justice. The Psalms reflect the full spectrum of life’s experiences, both of the individual and of the Jewish nation collectively.

No wonder than that throughout the ages, Psalms has served as a boundless source of inspiration, courage and hope.

Tanya Hebrew/English- $45 cdn

Author: Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi
Translators: Nissan Mindel, Nissan Mangel, Zalman Posner, Jacob Immanuel Schochet
Publisher: Kehot Publication Society
Format: 6″ x 9″ Hardcover, 1168 pages

The Tanya considered the “Written Torah” of Chasidism, is now studied by tens of thousands of people, from all walks of life. The Bilingual Tanya has contributed enormously to this global interest, by both stimulating and sating the quest for deeper involvement in Chasidut, in those to whom the orginal Hebrew text remains inaccessible, not only on the intellectual level, but as a modus vivendi.

We are pleased to present a newly revised edition of the classic Likkutei Amarim Tanya – Bilingual Edition.

First published in 1973, the Bilingual Edition has become the standard translation of Tanya.

Seeking to bring the teachings of Tanya to an ever-wider readership, we have implemented the following revisions and features:

  •  The Sefer has received a aesthetic facelift, presented in fresh, easy-to-read typeface.
  • The Hebrew text has been reproduced from the recently revised Hebrew edtion of Likkutei Amarim Tanya (Kehot, 2010).
  •  The original translation of the five parts of  Tanya was the work of a number of translators. As such, the rendition of terms, the transliteration of non-English words, and the general system of translation varied from part to part. In the present edition, we have endeavored to provide a more consistent style throughout the work.
  • All outdated translations of Scripture found primarly in the Likkutei Amarim, Part 1, have been updated.
  • Numerous errors in the text and source footnotes have been corrected.
  • All footnotes appear on the page where they are refrenced. In instances where the English translation and footnores were too lengthy to appear on one page, the facing Hebrew text is repeated on the following folio, and the remaining English translation continues opposite. A grey bar alongside the Hebrew text denotes the section corresponding to the translation.
  • The english supplements section has been completely revised: to further enhance this section’s usability, it has been renamed addendum, with an independent pagination system reading from left-to-right, and the information comprised therein has been restructured in a user-friendly order. The glossary originally appearing to Part I has been updated to cover all five parts of the Tanya, and detailed indices and a bibliography have been added.

Includes the title Mystical Concepts in Chassidism, an excellent guide to the intricate concepts of Jewish mysticism.
